What is The National Court Reporters Association

The National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) is the largest court reporter association in the United States. It began as the National Shorthand Reporters Association in 1899 with its first convention being held in Chicago, Illinois, with 156 reporters attending. The association continued to grow and add valuable resources including the nonprofit, philanthropic organization, The National Court Reporters Foundation. In 1990 the association renamed itself the National Court Reporters Association. Today the association continues to provide assistance to members in a variety of ways. NCRA offers court reporting and technology-based certificates, continuing education, a virtual mentorship program, and more. Plus the Journal of Court Reporting (JCR) always has great features and up-to-date technology trends for court reporting professionals.

This week NCRA members will be gathering in Las Vegas for the 2017 NCRA Convention & Expo. If you will be there, stop by the PohlmanUSA booth and speak to us about some of the exciting things we are doing and how you can be a part of our team.
